Privacy Concerns over the use of RFID
The nature of how mobile devices work gives rise to privacy concerns because it can be used as a tracking device to identify your location (see this post). RFID tags, the size of a grain of sand, have been used to tag items that we buy when we go shopping, e.g. for groceries or clothing. The use of this technology will become more widespread.
While the use of RFID tags make it easier for suppliers and retailers to track their inventories, it raises privacy concerns because if it is not disabled, the tag can be used to track the user’s movements. The video below explains this issue.

The Wonders of RFID Technology
The Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) is a combination of a computer chip and a small radio antenna that allows the self-identification of an object. It was first introduced in the 1980s where it was used for item tracking and access control applications.
An attractive feature of RFID is it supports non-contact reading and writing of data that makes it more convenient than scanning barcodes. This feature also allows ease of inventory tracking.
RFID can be used to track anything – from employees to pets to products.
